Get
Involved with Samara!
There
are many different ways to get involved at the Samara Foundation.
Your support helps make a real difference in the lives of our
lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities of Vermont.
Samara
Grants Advisory Committee:
In
the past Samara has granted over $250,000 to more
than 40 organizations to support the lgbt communities of Vermont.
Be part of a committee that reviews proposals and makes recommendations
for funding.
Samara
Scholarship Committee:
This
past year Samara awarded $3,000 in scholarships to four Vermont
high school students. Since 2000, Samara has recognized 29 graduating
high school students as Samara Scholars, and awarded them scholarships
for further study. If you would like to be part of this exciting
committee let us know.
Internships
(Volunteer):
Samara
Foundation of Vermont has opportunities available for part-time
internships. This is a great opportunity to be a part of supporting
the well being of Vermont's LGBT community. If you have writing
skills, database management skills, event planning expertise or
would like to see where your interests and skills match our needs,
then contact Liz at (802) 860-6236 or email us at volunteer@samarafoundation.org.
Office
Support:
If
you are a wizard with office projects and can help with anything
from mailing campaigns to data entry let us know.
Special
Events:
In
the last few years, Samara has hosted informational house parties
in Bennington, Brattleboro, Rutland and Grand Isle.
In
2009 we would like to reach out to other parts of Vermont. If
you would like to help organize a Samara house party in your community
let us know!
Call
the Samara office at 802.860.6236 or send email to volunteer@samarafoundation.org
and we'll be in contact to help you get involved.
